Finland based Intera Partners has raised a 200 million euro fund to be invested into promising and growing Finnish companies. The now raised Intera Fund II is Intera’s second fund. Investors in the new fund include high level international organisations, among others, Sjätte AP-fonden from Sweden, LGT Capital Partners from Switzerland and Standard Life Group’s SL Capital Partners from Scotland.

The fund is to be invested into companies with turnover between 10 and 100 million, that have not fully realised their growth potential. Intera does not simply pump money into the companies, but they also seek a majority of ownership in their investments.

Graeme Gunn from SL Capital Partners statest that “we’ve been searching for investment opportunities in Finland for years, but partners who fulfill our criteria have been hard to find”. Apparently Intera Partners managed to convince a lot of other organisations as well since 200 million euros is a big fund in the region.

While the investment activity of Intera Partners will be something different from the more traditional VCs, we’re sure it will play a key role in catalyzing these growth companies to their fullest potential. Intera does not distinctively state the industries it invests in, so companies who fit their investment criteria may be interested in contacting Intera Partners.

The actual partners at Intera are Tuomas Lang, Jokke Paananen, Martin Grotenfelt and Janne Näränen. In total the company employes nine people. The company was founded in 2007.
