Infogr.am Hits 100 000 User Made Infographics

Infogr.am has been on a roll since graduating from Helsinki’s Startup Sauna program. The Latvian company has continued it’s acceleration through HackFwd, and has recently hit 100 000 infographics made on its platform.

Co-founder Uldis Leiterts tells us that Infogr.am is seeing increasing adoption from large media companies and professional data journalists and bloggers. “More quality content creators choose us for a publishing platform for their data.”

The platform allows users to choose from a vareity of themes, and then helps users customise their graphs and present their data in an interactive, embedable chart.

“Sometimes people just use infogr.am to tell simple stories. There are infographics about someone getting haircut or how many times someone has been swimming this summer. Thought there’s a list of serious data as well – coverages of conflict regions, election results and market tendencies,” says co-founder Raimonds Kazhe.

The company started collecting some of the best made and most interesting infographics on a Featured Infographics page, which perhaps best demonstrates the range of their platform.

My favorite is the following one, Rambo kills per movie, broken down by whether he has his shirt on or off. Others may leverage the platform better by providing multiple charts per infographic, but this is Infogr.am at its simplest. It presents data in an interesting way.

Infogr.am will be supporting the winners of the Arctic15 with a complimentary service worth €2 000
