Here's four teams that won Venture Cup South. Find out what they do

Many things matter in entrepreneurship. But when you believe in your idea and have it accepted by others, you get great inspiration, like from nothing else, to move forward with your project and achieve new heights. And that’s exactly how the four winners of regional Venture Cup South must feel, who apart from inspiration also received some solid money prizes – 20,000 SEK for a win in one of the categories and 100,000 SEK as an overall competition winner.

Here’s the four categories and their victors as stated in Venture Cup South’s press-release.

    • ENVIRONMENT AND ENERGY

Agrilogik by Johan Haglund & Filip Celander
Johan & Philip signed up for the Venture Cup South to get feedback on their idea before moving forward with it. And the result exceeded their expectations as apart from qualified evaluation of their idea they also became overall winners of the contest and got 100,000 SEK for its development.

Johan & Philip’s company Agrilogik focuses on providing service for making self-sufficient bedding for cows on dairy farms. It works by separating out the feed fibers from the animals’ own manure and returning it to the stables. It is both more economical and environmentally friendly than the alternatives that farmers have access to today, and is also better for the animals.

    • PEOPLE AND SOCIETY

Marsafe by Johan Andersson & Viktor Lundberg
Johan & Viktor developed idea for their product based on their own experience at the sea. It turns out that there is currently no easy way of detaching life-jackets from the ship in instances of life threatening situations at the sea. Therefore, Johan & Viktor developed a new system for detachment of life-jackets on board ships that opens automatically. It is called ALC – Auto-release Life-jacket Container. The hope is that this new product will help to save many lives.

    • WEBS, SOFTWARE AND MEDIA

DotKeeper by Sannah Westerlund, Gabriel Jönsson, Marcus Glaad, Anders Paul Johansson and Hjalmar Antonsson
Experience from the industry inspired the team to create DotKeeper, a services that helps companies choose the right domain name, secure its management and be prepared for the future where the Internet infrastructure will be reshaped due to a large amount of new TLDs. The team really believes in their idea and plans to continue working on its development in the future.

    • LIFE SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

    Dr. Quench by Stephen Fritzdorf
Stephen used to work with athletes at Olympics level. This experience helped him to see the need to help runners to calculate how much fluid they need to drink at a race. His idea – Dr. Quench – provides an electronic delivery of expert advice personalized for runner’s needs. Stephen hopes that participation in Venture Cup will help him in launching this product.
