Swedish VoIP startup freephoo has updated its app with a bunch of new features that include Facebook and LinkedIn integration, as well as HD quality audio. The update is currently available for both the iPhone and the iPod Touch, with later releases planned for Android and the iPad.

Version 2.0 allows users to connect with their Facebook friends and LinkedIn contacts directly from the app. Freephoo co-founder Pandelis Eliopoulos says that social media integration was a natural progression for the service.

”People are building and maintaining relationships through social networks, so the phonebook is no longer the only alternative for contacts. We are very pleased to give our users the opportunity to call Facebook and LinkedIn contacts for free,” stated Eliopoulos.

Freephoo has also introduced SuperHD sound, an enhanced audio feature which promises to deliver superior audio quality to all calls.

Along with the introduction of these new features, freephoo has hiked up the price of its premium service from a previously reported €6.90 to 8.90€ for 100 minutes. Calls between freephoo users remain free-of-charge.
