Fleep announces €800,000 funding

Fleep today announces another €800,000 in seed funding from Estonian and UK angels, bringing its total to €1.9 million. The funding is led by current investors Jaan Tallinn, cofounder of Skype, and Rockspring, an investment firm based in Cambridge, UK.

The Estonian firm reckons themselves an email killer, merging together email and messages together into channels that allow you to communicate and work better together with their team. The service offers file storage, as will as a “pinboard” that lets you pull out important messages or edit them to update them as things change.

With the news, Fleep says it’s changing up its business model to make it a little easier to plug into, dropping their price down to €1 per month for some previously “premium” features, as they prepare new premium feature launches for later this summer.

Fleep has now grown to over 25,000 users and launched Fleep ID, an alternative to an email address in April.

With continued support from funders and major new upgrades coming we are feeling extremely confident about the future. Email is a protocol from the 1970s and we are gradually building the tools to make it obsolete.
