The Norwegian social delivery service Easybring has announced that after a successful launch in its home country it will be bringing its cheap environmentally friendly platform to the rest of the world.
The concept is delightfully simple, if you’re travelling somewhere and you know that someone else would like something brought there, then why not earn a little cash and bring it for them? To emphases how easy it is to understand and use, they’ve even used a child voice actor to narrate their promo video, nice touch.
“Our vision is to utilize every movement to solve the world's delivery needs”, said Easybring CEO, Ari Kestin, “We focused on creating a great service in the challenging market of Norway before opening the service to the global audience. If we can make it in Norway, we'll make it everywhere.”
Their service is available on computer, tablet and mobile phone, with apps on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. They’ve tried to make it work so that wherever you are you can check on the progress of items you might have paid to be delivered, or for information on things that you could get and bring.
One important area when dealing with deliveries is trust. A social service like this relies upon strangers trusting one another with valuable items, not always the easiest thing to do when you’re connecting over the Internet. To reassure users and engender trust Easybring collect and verify the email address, mobile phone number, and credit card details of all members, as well as insuring all deliveries, so that both parties can have peace of mind that items will be delivered, and delivery fees paid.
Easybring already expanded into Denmark back in March, CEO Ari Kestin explained at the time, ”Many Danes have contacted us and requested access to the service. Denmark is known as one of the world's most environmentally friendly country, so the service is expected to fit well with Danish mentality.”
While Product Manager Marius Røstad added, ”We worked around the clock to prepare the service for release in Europe, and we can't wait to introduce it to the Danish people. We developed new algorithms that will give Denmark the most advanced sharing service available.”
Between launching in Denmark and last week’s announcement they have increased their user base from 17,000 to 20,000 people and are confident that through their global launch they will see much greater growth. The most challenging aspect will be building relationships with ecommerce companies all over the world. For their service to really take off it needs to be tied into the platforms that people use every day. They have done so successfully in Norway at least, but to succeed globally they still have a tough journey ahead.
